We continuously seek for wood which was used in flooring, housing, furniture, and sometimes we are lucky to get wood from a bridge or roller coaster. Recent we were able to acquire Azobe, hardest and most durable wood, from a bicycle bridge in our city and provides us quite a bit of stock for multiple bicycles.

No, unfortunately this is not possible, and we have to use some aluminium and stainless-steel parts for seat stem, fork stem, bottom bracket and rear wheel supports. Additionally, we use in total 21 screws for additional strength.

Yes, we use layers of wood glued on top of each other, we use a minimum of 12 layers of wood where the inner layers are made from Birch wood providing the necessary flexibility while the outer layers are made of your selected hard wood for stiffness. After we apply the glue we vacuumize the bicycle for 24 hours, this removes al air from the glue layer and provides pressure to glue to parts together properly.

Our bike was tested at EFBE, the bicycle test institute. The test matches 10 years of continues riding in a city environment.

Yes, wood is durable and the wood types we use can be used for 30 to 40 years. And as we lacquer your bicycle with 7 layers your bicycle is well protected against any type of weather.

Wood is a natural product and even though we select our wood with care we are not always able to detect inclusions or small cracks in the wood itself, this can lead to a crack. A crack in itself does not have to be a problem, most of the times it simply does not look good but can be easily repaired with sandpaper, wood filler, and lacquer.

If, however, the crack grows, the frame needs replacement. In the first 2 years after purchase, we will replace the frame at our expenses after our expertise and if a flaw in the frame is found. If there are no issues in the wood found, we will provide an offer to replace the frame. After 2 years the warranty expires but still we can offer to replace the frame.

Basically we use the guarantee of the manufacturers and the quickest way to replace the part is to contact the manufacturer but you can contact us as well and we will take care of the replacement part but we need the exchange part and the guarantee must still be valid from the manufacturer.

Once you have ordered and paid your bicycle, we need time to order the parts, seek the wood you have selected and produce the bicycle. If we have the wood and parts on stock the delivery can be within 3 months but if we do not have sufficient wood available delivery can take up to 6 months.

A shipping company will deliver the bicycle at your house or your selected location of delivery. We have developed our own crate for shipping, this crate is also made of repurposed wood and provides protection for your bicycle during shipment. This crate however can be utilized multiple times and we provide a €200,- cash back if you have the crate returned and is received at our factory. You may choose to keep the crate at the cost of the cash back.

The wood is repurposed as mentioned above which means we did not cut down a tree and we did not use a lot of energy to manufacture a steel or aluminium frame. But that in itself does not make your bicycle sustainable, or at least that is what we believe. It is our aim to do more and make our production CO2 negative.

The manufacturing of the bicycle requires electrical energy and naturally we ship the bicycle and not to mention the parts we are using.

We know that some of our main suppliers such as Vittoria, Brooks, and Gates also focus on sustainability. Vittoria bicycle tyres for example has a recycle program of old bicycle tyres and have a carbon free production centre. And this is our aim as well, we use 100% green energy, all sawdust and parts are collected and used for heating, and to compensate for transportation we have acquired our own forest to capture CO2.

And although we have not calculated our footprint yet, we aim to build you that CO2 neutral, or even CO2 negative, bicycle.
